| The Greater
New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce, Inc. reflects the
needs of the community and its membership. Economic
Development is a major activity, with the Chamber
responsible for tourism development and primary job
recruitment, retention and expansion. Committees made up
of many volunteers see that the goals of economic
development are met. Another major area is Community
Betterment. Committees in this category include Natural
Resources, Transportation and the Business-Education
Partnership. A Leadership New Braunfels and Youth
Leadership program and a special division for retirees
have been initiated by the Chamber.
The Chamber’s Small Business Council is very active
in Legislative Affairs, Business Trade Show, military
recognition, seminars and business advisory sessions.
The Chamber sponsors a Small Business Development
Center. The Chamber is well known for special events
annually such as the Texas Legislative Conference and
Central Texas Golf Fest. The Chamber continues to set
new records with a growing number of achievements. An
all time high of 2,040 members was reached during ’03;
clearly demonstrating the broad based support of the
Chamber.
